Kids love to sing and move, and what better way to do this in the fall than with songs about pumpkins for preschoolers! These are two of my favorite songs that are easy to learn and will have your kiddos singing all day long.
Pick a Pick a Pumpkin
Words:
Pick a pick a pumpkin from the pile
We can make his eyes and a great big smile
Pick a pick a pumpkin round and clean
Then we’ll be ready for Halloween
Halloween, Halloween
Then we’ll be ready for Halloween
Halloween, Halloween
Then we’ll be ready for Halloween
Lesson Plan:
1.Learn the song with the words
2. Add the steady beat
3. Clap the rhythm
4. Do the motions to the words
I’m a Pumpkin
Words:
I’m a pumpkin large and round
Sitting on the cold, cold ground
Now it’s time for me to leave this place
Take me home and carve a face
Make a mouth (click, click)
And a nose (click, click)
And some eyes (click, click)
And a chin (click, click)
Lesson Plan:
1. Learn the song with the words
2. Use your “pumpkin” to make a face on it
3. Do motions to the song with your body
4. Add different body parts on the “click, click” part
